The President

Dr. Leonard Idowu Dovi Kufeji,FMCS was born in Lagos on 8th April 1944 and hails from Oyo State.
He attended St. Paul Catholic Primary School Ebute Metta (1950-56) and St. Gregory’s College, Obalende Lagos (1957 -64) for his Secondary and Higher School Education .

Dr. L.I.D. Kufeji was admitted into the College of Medicine of University of Lagos in 1965 and obtained the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB.BS) degrees with distinction in Surgery in 1970.
In the same year he started his residency training in the Department of Surgery at Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) Lagos.

During his training Programme in LUTH he proceeded to the Commonwealth Postgraduate Medical College, Hammersmith London where he did his attachment and courses in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery
(1976 – 78).

He became one of the Foundation Fellows of the National Postgraduate Medical College by examination in the Faculty of Surgery (Cardiothoracic Surgery) in 1977.
He was the Secretary-General of Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) 1977, Consultant Surgeon, Ada Hospital Lagos 1978-80, Chairman, Continuing Medical Education Committee National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (1980-84) and Convener, Faculty of Surgery National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (1994-2002).

Dr. L.I.D. Kufeji is the immediate Past Chairman Faculty Board of Surgery (2003 to 2007).
He is the Medical Director and Chief Executive Officer of St. Martin De Porres Medical Centre Mushin, Lagos, a Hospital he established in 1980.
He is a Consultant Surgeon to Finnih Medical Centre Ikeja and Patella Hospital Onike Lagos.
Member, Health Board, Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos.

Dr. L.I.D. Kufeji is a member of many National and International bodies which includes

- Lions Club International, Past president Ilupeju Lions club 1989
- Knight of St. Mulumba, Micheal – Bell awardee of International Association of Catholic Knights
- Knight of St. Gregory The Great. - 1998

He is a researcher and resource person in Hospital Management and Training.
He is a former Vice President of National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria. (January 2008 – December 2009).
On Friday 5thDecember, 2009 Dr Leonard Idowu Dovi Kufeji,FMCS, PNMC, was elected unopposed as the College President for a two – year term with effect from 1st of January, 2010.
He is happily married with children.
