The President

Professor Rasheed Ajani Arogundade, FMCR, PNMC, was born in Ilobu Town of Irepodun Local Government of Osun State, Nigeria on 29th June, 1951.

He attended Baptist High School Iwo (1968-1973). He was admitted into the Institute of Medicine and Pharmacy, CLUJ, Romania where he obtained the Degree –MD (Medic Doctor) in 1980.

Professor R.A.Arogundade started his Residency Training in Radiology at Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) in 1986. He became a Fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College by Examination in the Faculty of Radiology in 1990 and a Fellow of West African College of Surgeons the same year.

He was appointed Lecturer 1 in the Department of Radiology College of Medicine University of Lagos (CMUL) and Consultant Radiology to Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) in 1992.

Professor Rasheed Ajani Arogundade rose to the Post of Senior Lecturer in 2004, Associate Professor in 2008 and Professor of Radiology in 2011. He is a former Ag Head of Department of Radiation Biology, Radiotherapy, Radiodiagnosis and Radiography 2008-2010. He is the immediate past President of the Association of Radiologists in Nigeria, immediate past Chairman of Students Affairs Committee and past Hall Master Ali Akilu Hall of the College of Medicine of the University of Lagos. Currently, he coordinates the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Training as well as Remedial Course in Radiology for Foreign Medical Graduates in the Lagos University Teaching Hospital.

Professor Rasheed Ajani Arogundade is a member of many National and international bodies which include Association of Radiologists of West Africa, West African Medical Ultrasound Society, Nigerian Medical Association, Medical and Dental Consultant Association and Association of Radiologists in Nigeria. He has attended several conferences within and outside the Country and has scholarly publications in reputable local and international Journals. He is an examiner in the Faculty of Radiology of the College and the West African College of Surgeons

Professor Rasheed Ajani Arogundade is a long-serving Secretary of the Faculty of Radiology of the National Postgraduate Medical College (1999-2007) and two terms Chairman of the same Faculty (2007-2011). He is past Chairman of the Ceremonies Committee of Senate of the College.He isimmediate past Vice President of the College for a single two-year term (2012-2013).On Friday 6^thDecember, 2013, he was elected as the College President by the Governing Board of the College for a single two-year term (2014-2015).

Professor Rasheed Ajani Arogundade is happily married with Children.
