Dr. Ademola Abayomi Olaitan FMCDS was born in Ile-Ife Osun State in 1957. He attended Baptist High School, Ede (1968-1972) for his Secondary Education and The Polytechnic Ibadan (1974 – 1975) for higher school Education respectively.

Dr. A.A Olaitan was admitted into the College of Medcine, University of Ibadan in 1975 and obtained the Bachelor of Dental surgery (BDS) in 1980.
He undertook Postgraduate Residency Training in Dental Surgery at the University College Hospital, Ibadan (UCH) and Maxillofacial unit of Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, (ABUTH) Kaduna respectively.
He became a Fellow of National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in the Faculty of Dental Surgery (FMCDS) in 1989 and a Fellow of West African College of Surgeons in Faculty of Dental Surgery (FWACS) 1993.
He was appointed an Honorary Consultant and lecturer 1 Maxillofacial Unit, Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital from 1990 to1996 and senior lecturer 1996 to 1999.

He was appointed chief consultant Dental Surgery at National Hospital, Abuja from 1999 till date.
He was a former Acting Chairman Medical Advisory Committee at the National
Hospital, Abuja and Councillor, International Association of and Maxillofacial Surgeons from 2005 to 2007.
He was a former President African Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (2005 – 2008) President, Nigerian Association of Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons and Deputy Editor, Nigerian Dental Journal.
He is a researcher and has published widely.

He is a member of many National and International Professional bodies which include
• Nigerian Dental Association.
• Nigerian Medical Association.
• Medical and Dental Consultants Association.
• International Association of Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons.
• Nigerian Association of Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons.

He has attended several Conferences, Seminar and workshops within and outside
the country.He is the immediate past Chairman of Faculty of Dental Surgery of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria.
On Friday 4th December, 2009 he was elected as the College Treasurer for two-year term with effect from 1st January, 2010 to 31st December, 2011.
Dr. Ademola Abayomi Olaitan is happily married with children.
