FELLOWSHIP EXAMINATIONS
 
SEPTEMBER 2010 PRIMARY FELLOWSHIP EXAMINATION
The September 2010 Primary Fellowship Examination of the College will hold in the underlisted specialties (Faculties) on Thursday 23rd September, 2010.
Candidates should please indicate boldly at the top of their application forms their centre of preference.    NYSC DISCHARGE CERTIFICATE IS NOT A MANDATORY REQUIREMENT FOR ELIGIBILITY FOR THE PRIMARY EXAMINATION.

There are ten (10) Centres for the Primary Examination  viz:

i) NPMCN, KM 26 Lagos-Badagry Expressway, Ijanikin, Lagos.

ii) University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (New Site), Ituku Ozalla Enugu.

iii) Large Lecture Theatre, Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Tund-Wada, Zaria.

iv) Midwifery Hall, Maternity Annex, University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, Calabar.

v) The Institute of Continuing Education, 1st West Circular Road, Benin City, Edo State.

vi) Mambaya House Conference Hall, Centre for Democratic Research and Training, 57-58 Kofar Ruwa Road, Gwammaja Area, Kano.

vii) Nursing School Auditorium, University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, Maiduguri.

viii) Conference Hall, Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) Jos.

xi) Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Secretariat, Off Concorde Avenue, Off Port-Harcourt Road, New Owerri, Owerri, Imo State.

The November, 2010   Parts 1 & II Fellowship Examinations of the College will hold in LAGOS in all the Specialties (FACULTIES) listed above (A).
 

APPLICATION FORMS AND PROCEDURES FOR ENTERING FOR THE EXAMINATIONS:

Application Forms are obtainable FREE OF CHARGE at the offices of the Chief Medical Directors of University Teaching Hospitals and the Medical Directors or Heads of other accredited  Hospitals throughout Nigeria or directly from:

FELLOWSHIP EXAMINATION FEES IN ALL FACULTIES ARE  AS INDICATED BELOW:

PRIMARY FELLOWSHIP EXAMINATION FEES (IN ALL FACULTIES) IS N25,000.00.

Payment in full should be made directly into the College Account at any branch  of Zenith International Bank PLC AC 6010712263 and  Guaranty Trust Bank PLC  A/C No: 2306714604110.  A copy of the teller not photocopy  should be attached to the form and returned to the College.  Alternatively, payment in Bank draft drawn on any of UBN,FBN,UBA,WEMA AND AFRI BANK cheques and made payable to the NATIONAL POSTGRADUATE MEDICAL COLLEGE OF NIGERIA will be accepted.
            Moreover, candidates are hereby advised to write at the back of their teller or bank draft their names, address, Faculty and part of examination they intend to sit for.
            Please obtain official receipts of the College.  Under no circumstance will  cash be accepted for payment of  examination fees. BANK DRAFTS ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTABLE.

 

CLOSING DATE:

Completed application forms accompanied by all relevant documents  should reach the Deputy Registrar(Academic) at the College  address not later than Friday  30th July, 2010. Please remember to post-code your self addressed and stamped envelopes.

CAUTION TO AVOID DISQUALIFICATION

Applicants are advised to familiarize themselves with the requirements of their respective Faculties for entry to sit for the examinations.
The submission of incomplete forms/documents shall lead to disqualification and College shall not enter into any correspondence with such applicants.

DEADLINE FOR CHANGE OF FACULTY AND EXAMINATION CENTRE FOR PRIMARY EXAMINATION ONLY.
Request for change of Faculty and Examination centre must be forwarded to the College in writing not later than Friday 27th August, 2010.
 
LATE ENTRY
Applications received after the closing date will be treated as late entry.  A late entry fee of Five thousand naira (N5,000.00) per candidate will be charged.  Submission of late forms will be allowed for a period of two (2) weeks only from the original closing date.
 
ATTESTATION/RECOMMENDATION OF CANDIDATES
Only Fellows who are in good financial standing  with the College are eligible to attest to applications and recommend candidates for College examinations.
 
OTHER INFORMATION
 

RESEARCH PROPOSALS

All Part II candidates for November 2011 examinations must submit 4 copies of their research proposals for formative assessment not later than 27th August, 2010.  Each proposal loosely/spiral bound must be accompanied with a processing fee of Seven thousand, five hundred naira (N7,500.00) only.

 

OBSTETRICS & GYNAECOLOGY

 
PART 1 CASE BOOK

All candidates applying for Part 1 Obstetrics & Gynaecology in May, 2010 must submit their qualifying books on or before 1st  November 2010 with an assessment fee of Seven thousand, five hundred naira only (N7,500.00).

 
EXEMPTION FROM PRIMARY EXAMINATIONS

All candidates applying for Exemption from the Primary Fellowship Examination must pay a non-refundable processing fee of One thousand naira (N1,000.00) and Twenty – five thousand naira  (N25,000.00)  exemption fee when the exemption is granted.

 

Payments should be paid directly into the College Account at any branch of the designated banks.

 
SPECIAL NOTICE TO ALL FELLOWS, ASSOCIATE FELLOWS AND OTHER MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS

      All Fellows should ensure that they pay their annual dues and levies to the College and inform the College of their current postal addresses, e-mail and phone numbers.
     
    Payment for Annual dues/levies can be made at any branch of Zenith    International   Bank PLC A/C 6019401247.  A copy of the teller should be       forwarded to the College with the Fellow’s name and Faculty at the back.Candidates are advised not to pay their examination fees into this account.
     

    Alternatively, payments in Bank draft could be made payable to Fellows Account   – National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria.  Fellows should write their names and Faculty at the back of the draft.
