Professor Victor Chukwuma Wakwe FMCPATH Professor Victor Chukwuma Wakwe was born in Abonema, Rivers State on 27th April, 1949 and a native of Aboh Kingdom in Delta State.
He attended St. Patricks College, Calabar from 1962-1966 and College of Science and Technology Port Harcourt for his G.C.E Advanced Level (1974).

Professor Victor Chukwuma Wakwe was admitted into the College of Medicine University of Lagos where he obtained the Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry B.Sc (Hons) degree in 1977 and the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB.BS) degree in 1980.
He started his Residency training in Pathology (Chemical Pathology) at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) in 1982.
He became a fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in the Faculty of Pathology (Chemical Pathology) in 1988 and a Fellow of West African College of Physicians in 1994.
He obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Nutrition and Dietetics in 1986 from Grandhigrram Institute of Rural Health and Faculty Welfare Trust Ambathural India.
He was appointed Lecturer 1 in the Department of Chemical Pathology, University of Port-Harcourt in 1988 and Consultant Chemical Pathologist to University of Port-Harcourt Teaching Hospital. He rose to the rank of Professor of Chemical Pathology in 2003.
He is a former Acting Head of Department of Anatomic Pathology of University of Port-Harcourt (1989-1990).
Former Head of Chemical Pathology of University of Port-Harcourt (1992-1995) and (1998-2005).
He was the Dean, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, Niger Delta University Wiberforce Island, Bayelsa State from January to July 2006.
He is a researcher with several published papers.
Professor V.C. Wakwe is a member of many National and International bodies which include:
Nigerian Medical Association,
Association of Pathology of Nigeria,
Association of Clinical Chemists of Nigeria,
The New York Academy of Sciences.
He won scholarships and attended several conferences within and outside the country.
He was the immediate past Chairman of the Faculty of Pathology of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria for two terms.
He was elected unopposed as the College Treasurer on Friday 2nd December, 2005 for a two-year term with effect from 1st January, 2006.
Professor Victor Chukuma Wakwe is happily married with children.
